Washington DC Field Trip: On May 16th our class will be taking a trip to Washington DC. Permission slips were sent home and should be returned by May 2nd.
Field Day: HCS will be hosting the 2008 summer Olympic Games on the fields beside the new building on May 23rd from 12:00-3:00. We are in need of some volunteers who would be willing to come and run events and fill water balloons. Supplies and instructions will be provided. Volunteers will simply need to run the event. This is an incredibly fun day for the elementary students so we could use all of the help we can get. We are also looking to borrow some items for some of the events. We need a slip and slide, some water hoses, and beach towels. These items would be returned at the end of the day.
Store: Our classroom store could use a little restocking. We still have quite a few large items, but we could use small bags of candy or treats.
Next Week's Memory Verse:
My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. John 15:12
Dear Parents,
Tomorrow is Mr. Rockafellow's 5oth birthday. Students made "post-it" birthday notes for his office to help him celebrate. They are also asked to wear black to help him remember that he is now 50!
The testing week went extremely well. Most of the students have completed all of their test. Make-up testing will take place tomorrow (Friday) and Monday.
If
your student participated in any sports here at HCS, they have been
invited to the HCS sport's banquet at the Hanoverdale Church of the
Brethren on May 5th at 6pm. Please RSVP with the school office as soon as possible if you are planning on attending.
Several changes have taken place this week with our schedule. In preparation for middle school next year, we have begun attending the Middle /High school chapel. Also, students now have permission to wear flip-flops as long as they have appropriate shoes for PE class. If they forget shoes for PE class, they will lose their flip-flop privilege.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. Thank you!
