From The Teacher’s Desk:
Dear Parents,
Wow, so much to say and so little room! First, I would like to say what a wonderful job the sixth graders did on both of their trips last week. We had a wonderful time at the ACSI Fine Arts Festival and the Symphony. The class was well behaved and I think they did a great job of representing Hershey Christian School.
Because the school year is wrapping up, I have been noticing an increasing amount of students neglecting homework. I am keeping track of missed assignments. Should a student miss more than 4 homework assignments between now and the end of the year, they will not be eligible to go to the class party on June 4th. Instead they will use this time to make up for missed work and assignments. Please encourage your student to keep up with their homework.
For
the Field trip on Friday, students should wear comfortable shoes, bring
money for food (two meals) and be prepared for rainy weather. Also,
since the ticket cost went up for the trolley ride and the cost of gas
has risen, they should bring 2-3 dollars to give toward gas (unless you
as the parent are driving). We will be leaving from the Evangelical Free campus at 7am, and returning between 9:30 and 10:00. Students have permission to bring snacks, cell phones, electronic games and MP3 players since it will be a long ride. However, they are personally responsible for these items. If you have questions, please feel free to contact me. Thanks. ~Miss Reider
Field Day:
HCS will be hosting the 2008 summer Olympic Games on the fields beside the new building on May 23rd from 12:00-3:00. We are in need of some volunteers who would be willing to come and run events and fill water balloons. Supplies and instructions will be provided. Volunteers will simply need to run the event. This is an incredibly fun day for the elementary students so we could use all of the help we can get. So far I have not gotten any sixth grade parent volunteers.
For field day, our class is creating a flag to represent the country of Jamaica. We could use a white sheet (any size) to make our flag. If you have an old sheet you would be willing to part with, we would appreciate it!
